WeBuild Staffing (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for fire debris removal projects throughout the Los Angeles marketplace (Gardena and Pacific Palisades regions). This position involves safely and efficiently operating various heavy equipment to support critical cleanup and reconstruction efforts in the wake of recent fires.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, forklifts, and trenchers) for debris removal, demolition, earthwork, and related tasks.
• Perform pre/post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safe operation and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Monitor and maintain equipment during operation, performing basic maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project requirements and timelines.
• Assist with general labor tasks when equipment operation is paused.
• Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols and field procedures.
• Be available for travel and extended stays at remote job sites as required by project needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 4+ years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience.
• Certifications: HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physicals, including alcohol and drug screenings.
• Willingness to travel and work in remote locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with fire debris removal or disaster recovery projects.
• Additional certifications or training in heavy equipment operation.

Compensation
• Pay is hourly and commensurate with experience, equipment skills, and certifications.
