Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, e.g. Community Health Education, Public Health Education or a human services related field.
  • NCHEC Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent experience in health promotion planning and programming, including obesity & weight management and lifestyle counseling, and knowledge of Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes studies & the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • This is a government contractor position. Must be a U.S. citizen.


Duties include but not limited to:

The Health Educator provides healthy lifestyle coaching, health awareness, education, and intervention programs to military service members and their families. We seek a passionate professional who is knowledgeable about current health education trends and practices.

  • Provide health promotion planning & education programming for diabetes prevention, nutrition and weight management.
  • Administer assessments, coaching/counseling, and various other health and nutrition programs/activities that meet the needs of the military facility community at large.
  • Develop population-based programs targeting high-risk groups and individuals and implementing programs through group & individual counseling and education.
  • Provide healthy lifestyle coaching, health awareness, education, and intervention programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate all healthcare-to-health (H2H) and Health Promotion (HP) prevention programs and services.
  • Other duties.
