Head of Manufacturing

We are seeking a Manager to head up manufacturing operations for our client whose long-time VP/Manufacturing Manager has recently retired. Our client is an established, privately-held forest products company that has been consistently profitable, continues to make significant strategic investments, and is highly respected in both the industry and community.

We are looking for someone with a successful track record in lumber manufacturing who ideally has experience with operations where grade and yield are more important than simply volume out the door. An ethical, compassionate leader who can positively motivate their people and be a key member of the company’s management team. Ideally someone promotable – able to assume greater responsibilities if and when the situation presents itself.

This manufacturing division includes a specialty sawmill focused on producing high value products for export markets where high quality is extremely important. The company’s manufacturing and drying processes produce a consistent, quality product that customers willingly pay a premium for.

Our client also has a significant timberlands division with some of the South’s highest-value timber resource, and which supplies the majority of the mill’s resource.
