Position Summary
Leads the people agenda across Brugal (over 900 employees with the majority in the Dominican Republic and smaller teams in Spain, France, US and the UK), ensuring a close link between local/regional activity and the overall Edrington People strategy. Responsibility for the DR based HR team of 13.
Works closely with the Brugal LT and global HRLT to deliver a strong people agenda. Adapts global strategy locally to ensure relevancy and compliance. Is a sounding board for the BU MD and Brugal LT. As a member of both leadership teams (Brugal LT/HRLT) is a strong contributor both from a strategic and an operational perspective.
In collaboration with the LT develops and drives a strong Brugal culture that focusses on engaging, developing and retaining key talent. This role is central to building a strong foundation to our culture that supports policies and practices aimed at making positive change.
Ensures excellent delivery of initiatives in all 4 areas of the global People strategy through strong collaboration and communication with the business: Talent Management, Learning & Development, Reward & Benefits, Engagement & Culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Talent Management:
- Drive talent and critical role conversations and facilitate succession/talent planning/rotations at a variety of levels within agreed timescales to meet business needs
- Ensure the attraction of top diverse talent through innovative sourcing strategies and the development of a strong employer brand locally
- Drive performance management and objective setting to ensure a fair and consistent process across the region
- Learning & Development:
- Shape the learning agenda for Brugal and deliver a high impact capability and skill building agenda
- Ensure focus on development planning and usage of the Edrington Academy and other available resources.
- Reward & Benefits:
- Cascade, educate and communicate global reward programs; ensuring the consistent implementation and understanding of all reward programs
- Ensure appropriate motivation through focus on total reward and the delivery of market appropriate programs
- Engagement & Culture:
- In collaboration with the global D,E&I Manager drive the D,E&I agenda across the region and ensure successful delivery of plans
- Champion change management to ensure best practice organizational design, structures, and deployment of talent. Ensure strong communication plans are in place for any change initiative
- Provide coaching and development to HR managers in the region and ensure that the HR strategy is implemented at the highest level
- Act as a sounding board to the BU MD and LT and help facilitate decision making processes through sound HR advice and business acumen
- This role is required to collaborate closely with the HRLT to shape and drive global strategies and best practice.
- Must be flexible to travel to all locations in the DR and occasionally to Scotland when appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Core Competencies Required
Knowledge
- Business or relevant HR degree
- Experience commensurate to this level of role within a HR department, preferably in an international and matrix environment
- Demonstrable experience in delivering high impact engagement and development initiatives
- Previous experience within the industry is desirable but not necessary
- Excellent knowledge of DR employment practice
- Well-rounded HR professional with experience in all functional areas of HR and knowledge of innovative HR practices
- Fluent in Spanish and English (both required)
