About the Role
An innovative healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead financial planning, analysis, and accounting functions. This position plays a crucial role in shaping financial strategy, optimizing processes, and supporting company growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Fundraising experience, financial modeling skills, and a background in healthcare finance are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Lead fundraising efforts, including preparing investor materials, managing financial due diligence, and overseeing data room organization.
- Analyze financial trends, performance metrics, and key business drivers to support executive decision-making.
- Work closely with department leaders to create budgets and monitor financial performance.
- Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll, accounts payable, and receivable.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability in financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external financial partners.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance and accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in finance and accounting, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in fundraising, investor relations, and financial due diligence.
- Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth company is a plus.
- Previous experience in healthcare or technology sectors is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and driving operational efficiencies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, or other financial management software.
