Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a family-owned and operated trucking company that provides logistical solutions for customers across the United States. This organization was founded over 30 years ago and through growth has stayed committed to their employees and customers.
The Head of Brokerage is responsible for the continued progressive, profitable growth of the multi-modal, freight brokerage business. Major emphasis on developing and executing an aggressive commercial growth plan while maintaining strong financial performance. Direct reports include Sales, Carrier Sales, Sales Operations, and Pricing. Responsible for driving new business development and organic revenue growth for the organization. Responsible for developing and implementing a commercial strategy and building a sales team. Accountable for leading the organization’s inside business development team through the development and implementation of the sales strategy. Will manage various levels of Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Capacity Development, and Operations personnel. Short and Long-term goals include organizational design, customer and carrier facing sales group structure and compensation, account revenue growth and increasing account growth. Responsible for P & L, establishing metrics, formulating and administering divisional policies, business plan development, and operational execution. Implementation and practice of EOS concepts and principles. In addition, review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and technology enhancements. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.
Vision is to grow the $60M freight brokerage division to $100M+.

Background Required:
  • Progressive commercial leadership experience within freight brokerage (10+ years)
  • Experience driving and managing rapid growth within a freight brokerage organization.
  • Track record of driving profitable growth with P&L responsibility
  • Track record in building scalable, repeatable processes and a data driven culture.
  • Track record of engaged leadership and building strong teams
  • Developed & managed KPI’s (i.e., on-time performance, margin, data integrity, lane balances)
  • Ability to close and manage large account business and drive organic growth of existing accounts.
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e., TL, LTL, intermodal, specialized)
  • Experience driving technology and process improvement.
  • Experience in establishing organizational infrastructure.
  • Business planning (annual organizational and sales plans, budgeting, financing, forecasting)
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Pennsylvania (relocation assistance)
