JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Commercial HVAC – Refrigeration Technician in [Metro Detroit, MI]. Our client is a well-established mechanical contractor specializing in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service, repair, and installation. The Commercial HVAC – Refrigeration Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, service, and repair on commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities of a Commercial HVAC – Refrigeration Technician include:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, RTUs, and HVAC systems

  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service calls

  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Safely handle refrigerants and comply with EPA regulations

  • Complete service reports and communicate with clients on job status

  • Work independently or with a team in the field across commercial sites

Job Requirements of a Commercial HVAC – Refrigeration Technician:

  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC system components, and tools

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation

  • Skilled in brazing, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repair

  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

  • Clean driving record and ability to travel locally

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Certificate or training in HVAC/Refrigeration (preferred)

  • EPA 608 Certification required (Type II or Universal preferred)

  • 2+ years of commercial HVAC/Refrigeration experience preferred
