PURPOSE: The HR Manager will contribute to the implementation of Human Resources operational strategies and support integration of the company systems. Key member of the leadership team by partnering with management to support strategic business goals, align and support the strategic business goals, implement change, and become a key partner of the leadership team. This role will also create a partnership with the union and management teams to foster good employee relations and engagement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Knowledge of all applicable Human Resource laws, practices, and labor contracts
  • Responsible for both Converting and Papermill Human Resource policies, procedures, contract maintenance, and documentation
  • Accountable for leading all coordination of grievances, arbitration preparation, contract preparation, organization of labor management meetings, and communications to all relevant parties
  • Identify unit’s Human Resources needs and propose action plans for budgets, resources, and schedules
  • Implement the Human Resources management strategies, practices, and processes that apply to their unit
  • Support managers in coaching of their staff members
  • Create organizational transformation in their unit and acts as a Change Advocate
  • Support the engagement of the units’ staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy
  • Build up talent development and implement succession strategy for the site
  • Draw inspiration from Human Resources management best practices to innovate current processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Human Resources or similar degree
  • Human Resource Certification: SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR or other industry recognized certifications in the field desired
  • Seven plus years of direct management experience in Human Resources with supervisory responsibility
  • Seven plus years of direct negotiations and labor contract management where you were the primary resource on the bargaining and management of daily contract grievances, arbitration, and litigation
  • Human Resource manufacturing experience, preferably in the paper industry or similar union environments
  • Exemplary record of leadership, engagement, and successful contract negotiations
  • Proven track record in working with multiple plants and multiple sites
