What You’ll Own & Lead

As the HR leader for our Chicago plant, you will have the autonomy to drive HR strategy, optimize workforce performance, and shape company culture. You will be the key HR business partner for plant leadership, ensuring that our exceptional team has the resources, support, and engagement they need to excel.

Key Responsibilities

✅ HR Leadership & Strategy

• Lead all HR programs and policies for the Chicago plant, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Partner with plant leadership to drive a performance-driven culture, developing strategies to enhance engagement and retention.
• Act as a trusted advisor to management, providing guidance on complex HR issues and workforce planning.

✅ Employee Engagement & Development

• Own all employee communications to ensure transparency, alignment, and engagement.
• Create reward and recognition programs to boost morale and drive high performance.
• Lead the internal job promotion process, ensuring growth opportunities for employees.
• Coordinate and facilitate employee meetings, engagement events, and trainings.

✅ Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Oversee full-cycle recruiting for the Chicago site, hiring top-tier talent to fuel our success.
• Partner with hiring managers to identify workforce needs, optimize staffing, and build high-performing teams.
• Manage relationships with staffing agencies to ensure seamless support for production hiring.

✅ HR Compliance & Employee Relations

• Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching, counseling, and performance management.
• Manage all leave of absence (LOA) cases, including FMLA, short-term disability, and personal leaves.
• Ensure compliance with Chicago labor ordinances, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain HRIS accuracy, ensuring up-to-date employee records and reporting.

✅ Safety & Compliance

• Collaborate with the Corporate EHS Coordinator to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
• Assist in managing workers' compensation cases and workplace safety training.

✅ Leadership & Team Development

• Support, mentor, and manage the HR Specialist, fostering professional growth and HR excellence.
• Serve as a culture champion, ensuring HR is a visible and proactive presence in the organization.

Who You Are

✔ 7+ years of progressive HR experience in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
✔ Strong HR Generalist experience, with expertise in employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and workforce strategy.
✔ Bilingual in Spanish? That’s a major plus!
✔ Manufacturing, production, or related industry experience highly preferred—you understand the demands of a fast-moving, high-performance environment.
✔ A natural leader—you thrive on taking ownership, making decisions, and driving change.
✔ An excellent communicator—clear, engaging, and able to influence at all levels.
✔ A problem solver—you think strategically, act decisively, and stay ahead of challenges.
