HR Generalist

Job Summary:
With limited and general direction, the Human Resource Generalist reports the Director of People Operations and acts as a business partner with the local management team and other People Operations team members to effectively support the human resources functions while maintaining compliance with industry regulatory agencies and company programs. In addition to employee relations, compliance, benefits, and compensation programs, this role is actively engaged with the implementation of strategic Human Resources initiatives.
Essential Functions:

- Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
- Collect, process and manage all Workers Comp claims.
- HRIS system changes, org changes and general expertise for the platform
- Collects all doctors notes and follows up as needed
- Audits time and attendance for integrity.
- Assist in department’s Year-end Processes
- Set up drug screen centers Initiate drug screening paperwork for employees
- Initiate annual background check for employees
- Initiate annual MVR for employees
- Assist with Onboarding during peak times
- Launches onboarding trainings such as CPNI, Sexual Harassment, Anti-Bullying, etc and ensures their completion.
- May assist with creating or reviewing policies
- Cross training in other areas of HR
- Provide monthly reporting to management
- Special projects as needed
Skills:
- Ability to learn local, state and federal law for 10+ states
- Collect, process and manage all Workers Comp claims.
- Experience using Paylocity or similar
- Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Power Point
- Ability to maintain strict and complete confidentiality.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Has a great team attitude and willing to help wherever necessary.
- Possesses strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to successfully address issues in an analytical manner.
- Creative problem-solving mentality and has the ability to adapt to change
- Ability to work under pressure in a multitasking environment.
- Comply with all established company policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of previous experience in the area of Human Resources in a similar work environment
- 2+ years’ experience with Workers Comp Claims
- Human Resources degree is preferred
- Experience with FMLA and other forms of Leave of Absences

Physical Demands:
- Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
- To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting, standing, operating computers and other office equipment and moving about the office. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone.
Working Hours/Days:
- Full time
- 40 hours
- Monday through Friday
