Our client is recruiting for a HR Generalist for their Cape Town office. The successful candidate will be a strong all-round experience with the opportunity to grow with the site in partnership with the Operations Team.
Primary purpose:
The HR Consultant is responsible for ensuring that the HR operations align to the overall HR practices and strategic objectives in their assigned business unit/area. This position proactively supports the development of HR policies and procedures.

Key roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide HR policy and procedure guidance
- Support the design, development and execution of full cycle recruitment plans and talent sourcing strategies
- Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Provide HR related advise across the generalist range of the role
- Proactively support the implementation of the company’s people plans by working with internal stakeholders to develop a culture of responsibility and accountability for front line human resources management and embed a performance culture
- Contributes to the design and implementation of strategies relating to the recruitment, development, engagement, and general HR support of employees in the area of responsibility and/or stakeholder group
- Manage and deliver complex HR projects across the company within specific timeframes
- Act as a consultative business partner to the assigned stakeholder group by advising them of trends in HR practices, the labour market and general developments that could impact on the human resources in the area of responsibility
- Contribute to the development of progressive HR policies, processes and plans to drive continuous engagement and embed a performance culture across the organisation
Assist with organisation transformation and change programmes - Provide strategic advice and ongoing support on employee relations issues, dispute resolution and industrial advocacy including managing escalated or complex cases
- Support the creation of effective employee relations, retention, and rewards programs
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
- Assertive in approach coupled with confidence in area of expertise and the ability to facilitate business conversations
- Maintains a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and labour legislation
- Ability to develop HR policies and procedures that meet company needs
- Ability to work effectively and maintain resilience in a changing environment
- Strong relationship management and demonstrated collaborative skills in working with internal and external business leaders and stakeholders
- Build strong professional relationships with Management teams and participate in Management Team meetings
- Provide commercially focused advice and support to Managers on all Employee Relations issues in line with Company procedures including disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence issues
- Raise awareness of current and new Employment Legislation as well as other corporate initiatives
Produce Monthly HR report and HR statistics, strong - Identify trends and proactively address issues of high attrition, sick leave management, and cost savings within the Business unit
- Lead the HR work stream on ad hoc projects e.g., recruitment, change management, Group HR initiatives
- Assist in ad hoc projects/initiatives on behalf of the Group HR team
- Networking and building relationships within the wider HR team
- Ability to influence key decision makers and to challenge when necessary

- Strong written and verbal communication style and ability to flex style to meet needs of different business unit
Strong reporting skills - Ability to work autonomously and make own decisions
- Flexible, adaptable and ability to travel on a regular basis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or similar qualification
- Human Resources Professional certification
- Generalist HR experience, preferably gained within Contact Centre /BPO environment
- Relevant qualification and / or equivalent experience/or currently working towards qualification
- Strong generalist HR background and regular experience of complex HR issues including retrenchment, dismissals, change management and Disciplinary process handling up to CCMA
- Up to date knowledge of Employment Law
- Articulate in both written and verbal communication
