Position Summary
Our client, a unit-based kitchen operation supporting airline catering services, is seeking a Human Resources Onboarding & New Hire Coordinator to serve as the primary point of contact for new employees transitioning into the organization. This role coordinates and manages all onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth and engaging new hire experience, and partners closely with Operations Management, HR, and department leadership to facilitate orientation, training, and employee integration while supporting retention and engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the new hire onboarding process from pre-employment through the first weeks of employment
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document new hire orientation sessions
  • Coordinate kitchen and unit-based onboarding activities to ensure a seamless transition for new employees
  • Introduce new hires to key staff members, management, and departmental resources
  • Administer and monitor the Mentor Program, including mentor assignments and documentation
  • Coordinate first two-week training assignments and track completion
  • Facilitate new employee performance reviews and feedback during the onboarding period
  • Lead the New Employee Assessment Program, maintaining accurate documentation and follow-up
  • Partner with Operations Management to improve onboarding effectiveness and employee engagement
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Support communication between HR, management, and new employees throughout onboarding
  • Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred; Bachelor's degree a plus

Experience

  • Experience in HR, Training, Organizational Development, or related field preferred
  • Staffing agency or high-volume recruiting experience a plus
  • Experience supporting managers and employees in a fast-paced operational environment preferred

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction in operational kitchen environments
  • Requires regular walking between work areas; ability to stand, sit, and speak for extended periods
  • Must be comfortable working in varying kitchen temperatures, including heat and cold exposure
  • Schedule may include up to 25% off-shift hours to support onboarding needs

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, drug screening, and/or fingerprinting as required
  • Valid driver's license may be required based on business needs
