Their goal is to make the world safer while caring for their customers, colleagues and the environment. They are seeking an HR Coordinator to help support their Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal offices.
As HR Coordinator, you will be the main point of contact for all HR transactions (including onboarding, offboarding, leaves of absence, contract extensions and various employee changes). You will help execute efficiency within the HR function and help fine tune and implement the Health & Safety programs for the organization. Your role will be to support the recruitment process by posting jobs, pre-screening candidate, and coordinating interviews. Onboarding and offboarding employees and ensuring all HR files are maintained will be expected. You will gain experience with training new hires, administering the corporate benefit plan, and encouraging a strong corporate culture with staff events. The HR Coordinator will support the staff in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto but travel would be limited to extenuating circumstances. The hope is the HR Coordinator will also be able to take on the payroll function over time.
The Ideal Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or another related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in HR. You will have experience amending HR policies and rolling out new procedures while ensuring the Health and Safety program is maintained and followed. As the HR Coordinator, you will be required to assist in the recruitment process, and because the organization’s Canadian presence is smaller offices, you will get a chance to touch upon all areas of the HR portfolio. The perfect candidate won’t shy away from some of the administrative functions, such as ordering office supplies from time to time. You will bring a great work attitude and demonstrate exceptional communication and work ethic.
What will make you stand out:
- 2+ years working in an HR capacity in a transactional / operational role
- Understanding of health & safety and how to amend and create HR policies
- Willing to work on site in Ottawa, with occasional travel to alternative sites
- Strong communication skills and organizational skills, along with exceptional discretion required for HR and payroll
