Our client is an exciting new NGO that the government has recently funded to drive women's initiatives domestically and abroad. As the organization has grown tremendously in a short time, the HR team is growing as well. They are currently seeking a Learning and Development Specialist in Ottawa to help build out new programs and take responsibility for driving organizational and talent training strategies, programs, and practices for building organizational capabilities.

As an HR Consultant, you will bring a passion for learning and development to a strong HR team. For the next few months, our client is looking for someone who can step in and support the Director of HR with numerous projects on her plate. Working with a fantastic HR leader, you will assist the Director of HR in developing and executing new learning and development processes and launching a new performance management system. You will manage an end-to-end performance management program to build high-performance autonomous teams with clear goals, progress reviews, and feedback mechanisms. You will lead key training projects from working with stakeholders to understand development requirements, to instructional design, creating learning processes to help optimize talent management. You will be a research guru who actively engages in research analytics for HR programs, and strives to implement best practices by monitoring external talent management trends and preparing talent dashboards. You will advance the justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion work by developing anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, providing employee training, and seeking feedback from stakeholders for continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years working in progressive HR roles. Having worked as an HR Generalist and HR Business Partner, we are looking for someone who has found a passion for the training and development side of HR. With experience creating and driving curriculums, working with performance management systems, identifying areas for training and development, and delivering programs will be expected. We are looking for someone ideally coming from a non-profit background and feels passionately about our client’s cause and mandate. You will be a research guru who loves to get into detail, build dashboards and leverage data to optimize workforce performance and engagement. Exceptional communication skills, proven experience with talent management and training delivery is needed. Computer system proficiency and working knowledge of LMS (learning management systems) and PMS (performance management systems) is highly desirable.
