A premier full-service hotel in the vibrant Charleston area is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead their group sales efforts. This high-volume property is a cornerstone of the local hospitality market, offering a sophisticated environment for both corporate and association gatherings. Position Responsibilities
- Drive top-line revenue by meeting or exceeding pro-rated annual sales goals of $1.2 million through the end of the year.
- Focus on new business development and direct telephone solicitation within the Corporate and Association group market segments.
- Negotiate group rates and meeting room rentals to maximize property yield and profitability.
- Execute the full sales cycle, including pre-qualification, site inspections, contract issuance, and post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate closely with various department heads to ensure seamless service delivery and total guest satisfaction for all booked groups.
- Maintain accurate lost business reports and track tentative and definite bookings by market segment.
- Represent the property at trade shows, consumer shows, and community functions to build brand presence.
Position Requirements
- At least 2+ years of experience in Hotel Group Sales. Experienced Sales Coordinators with selling experience will also be considered
- Strong background in the Corporate and Association market segments is preferred.
- Proficiency with Marriott, Hyatt or other major-brand platforms is highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to conduct effective rate negotiations and close sales in a competitive market.
- A minimum of a 2-year college degree is preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands dictate.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Compensation Package Details
- Base Salary: $55,000 – $70,000
- Bonus: Up to 25% of base salary, paid bi-annually (July/August and February/March)
- 401k: 5% company match eligible after 12 months of service
