Group Benefits Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking a Group Benefits Analyst to join our team.
The group benefits analyst is responsible for tracking, auditing and analysing the financial performance of employee benefits programs, and reporting client-specific results to an assigned client-management team.
The Group Benefits Analyst will:
- Prepare reports for standard deliverable: experience and renewals with data provided from underwriter/data entry staff.
- Prepare reports for special projects: IE plan alternates, flex program, new LTD benefit, etc.
- Calculate pricing of plan alternates and alternative funding methods, stop loss, etc.
- Create/Provide client-specific illustrations to demonstrate opportunities for tax efficiencies within the employee benefits program’s structure, and the effects of such,
- Become familiar with the lifecycle of the service agreement, including timing of scheduled deliverables, and become familiar with ongoing workflow requirements, and consulting styles required,
To be successful as a Group Benefit Analyst with People Corporation, you will need:
- 5+ years work experience in the group insurance industry
- Strong understanding of various carriers’ claims paying and administrative processes, as well as their underwriting practices and pricing models
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
- Strong problem-solving ability, able to ‘seek first to understand’
