Grocery Regional Sales Representative

We are excited to partner with a national leader in labeling solutions to find their next high-performing Grocery Labeling Representative. This person will be responsible for for growing and expanding products and services within existing and new customers. The core mission of the role of the Grocery Labeling Sales Representative is to grow revenue and improve margin from the assigned territory (National, but primarily North East at this point). The revenue growth will come through executing the company’s designed sales process to:

Achieve growth through new business generation.

Retain and grow revenue from existing business.

Expand wallet share within account base through leveraging expanding product lines and capabilities.

Develop strong relationships with existing and new customers.

Create value for customers through service and leveraging company resources.


What You Will Be Doing:

70% - Selling
1. Learn and use the company's buyer-aligned, consultative sales process.

2. Execute virtual and physical visits with defined customers and prospects.

3. Become a trusted advisor with customers by learning their businesses, challenges, and risks.

4. Propose and progress to close the appropriate solutions for customers.

5. Employ negotiation tactics to maximize price and profitability.

6. Work to improve customer contact relationships and expand reach within customers to other buying centers. The goal here is to increase customer retention and the share of their wallet with the company.

7. Work within the assigned territory, resource and budget constraints.

8. Maintain accurate sales reports.

9. Help accurately qualify opportunities.

10. Continuously enable distributor selling teams to sell the company's offerings. This includes training sessions, provision of marketing materials and sales tools, and observation/coaching.

30% - Other

11. Manage customer satisfaction by involving internal resources.

12. Share sales best practices and lessons learned via approved forums.

13. Keep up with continuing education to improve your skills and move you towards your next career path promotion.

14. Be an ambassador for the company by actively promoting the brand.


Necessary Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

2. Demonstrated B2B sales experience and experience managing a territory.

3. Experience selling direct to grocers and or wholesale food distribution preferred.

4. Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude; Able to deliver projects and answer inquiries on time.

5. Able to utilize consultative sales techniques to manage sales cycle including: understanding prospect’s business needs, identifying prospect’s key risks, negotiating and bringing the transaction to closure

6. Ability to deliver excellent customer experience.

7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.


How You Will Be Measured:

1. Sales growth (quarter-over-quarter performance compared to plan).

2. New business generation in existing and new customers.

3. Account penetration through wallet-share gain with account base.

4. Margin improvement through mix and price management.

5. Opportunity pipeline management through company CRM system

6. Work within defined resource/budget constraints.

Compensation includes a base salary with quarterly commission based on sales and potential annual discretionary bonus.
