This role will be responsible for:

  • Conducting trading activities to optimize profitability.
  • Managing grain origination and overseeing profit and loss for the grain elevator.
  • Executing hedging strategies and monitoring cash grain positions.
  • Maintaining key customer relationships and ensuring superior customer service.
  • Supporting the maintenance of the grain warehouse license and associated requirements.

Expectations will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with customers, farmers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyzing market trends and conditions to identify and leverage opportunities.
  • Facilitating open communication with accounting and operational teams to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and providing accurate market information in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with sales and operations to align market intelligence with strategic goals.

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 8 years in ag-business, commodity trading, or a related field with a strong analytical foundation.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Power BI and CBOT trading is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Basic accounting, sales, and negotiation skills, along with familiarity with market values, pricing, and margins.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.

Compensation: $125K+ DOE
