This role will be responsible for:

Conducting trading activities to optimize profitability.
Managing grain origination and overseeing profit and loss for the grain elevator.
Executing hedging strategies and monitoring cash grain positions.
Maintaining key customer relationships and ensuring superior customer service.
Supporting the maintenance of the grain warehouse license and associated requirements.

Expectations will include:

Building and maintaining strong partnerships with customers, farmers, and internal stakeholders.
Analyzing market trends and conditions to identify and leverage opportunities.
Facilitating open communication with accounting and operational teams to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Responding to customer inquiries and providing accurate market information in a timely manner.
Collaborating with sales and operations to align market intelligence with strategic goals.

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: At least 8 years in ag-business, commodity trading, or a related field with a strong analytical foundation.
Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Power BI and CBOT trading is a plus.
Knowledge: Basic accounting, sales, and negotiation skills, along with familiarity with market values, pricing, and margins.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.

Compensation: $125K+ DOE
