Summary:
APV is seeking a strategic, people-oriented, and entrepreneurial Government Relations Manager or Associate to lead its relationship-building and stakeholder engagement. This role blends high-level outreach with creative event execution to foster bipartisan collaboration and issue-oriented conversations across the political spectrum. The Government Relations Manager or Associate creates experiences that build relationships between Hill staffers, Members of Congress, nonprofit leaders, and other influential stakeholders, while advancing APV’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
● Serve as an external-facing relationship-builder-in-chief, proactively engaging with Members of Congress, senior congressional staff, VIPs, policy leaders, CEOs, partner organizations, and other stakeholders, to ensure gatherings are successful, effective, and trust-building.
● Lead strategic event planning and logistics from start to finish, including coordinating speakers, managing guest lists, and overseeing all event details for APV.
● Drive bipartisan action and collaboration on key APV policy priorities through events, briefings, polling, public affairs, lobbying and other tools.
Experience:
● Open to entry-level candidates, and/or candidates with up to 5 years of professional experience.
● Experience or familiarity with political, nonprofit, private sector, Capitol Hill dynamics is a plus.
● High comfort with navigating and operating with stakeholders across the political spectrum is required.
● Excellent relationship-building and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders with professionalism, poise, and warmth.
● A strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with an ability to align events and programs with broader organizational goals.

Compensation:
Base salary range: $60,000 - $100,000 plus a strong benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401(K) match and generous paid time off.
Location:
Position requires candidates to be in the Washington, DC office 5 days per week.
