Our client, a globally respected company in the nutritional ingredients and health product sector, is seeking a Global Director of Product Development. This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a strong foundation in nutrition science and health innovation, who can lead international teams and deliver strategic product pipelines across global markets, including China.

The company has a growing presence in China and the broader Asia-Pacific region. It is focused on developing advanced, science-based solutions in areas such as digestive health, immunity, cognitive function, sports nutrition, and healthy aging.

The role:

  • Drive strategic innovation for both Chinese and international markets

  • Lead cross-functional teams across R&D, regulatory, marketing, and commercial functions

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the global product development strategy aligned with company innovation goals and market demand
  • Lead the creation of nutritional ingredient platforms and finished supplement concepts supported by clinical research
  • Collaborate with teams across marketing, sales, regulatory, and science to deliver fully integrated and commercially viable product solutions
  • Apply agile development practices to reduce time-to-market while ensuring technical and regulatory compliance
  • Manage international regulatory considerations, including NMPA, EFSA, FDA, and ASEAN standards
  • Build and mentor a high-performing global team focused on innovation, scientific rigor, and operational delivery

Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or a related field; an MBA, MS, or PhD is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in product development within the nutrition, dietary supplement, or functional food sectors
  • Proven leadership in managing regional or global teams, ideally within B2B nutrition or supplement industries
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching products that are both innovative and compliant
  • Knowledge of China’s regulatory landscape and an understanding of consumer and market trends in the region
  • Strong collaboration skills and a strategic yet hands-on approach to innovation
