Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Global CEO for a leading international freight forwarder and logistics provider present in over 100 countries and with annual revenues of over $4 billion.
The Global CIO will supervise and develop use of Information Technology (IT) within the organization. The successful individual will have in-depth knowledge of the current and up-and-coming trends in the IT field as it is applied in the logistics industry and will demonstrate excellent leadership skills that result in driving digitization throughout the organization. Develops, plans, and implements an IT strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security. Helps store, evaluate, and apply data strategies to daily operations to improve company efficiencies. Maintains optimal performance of company networks and computer systems, to include plans for troubleshooting, maintenance, and new system implementations. Ensures that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs. Provides leadership to IT specialists and other staff within organization and develops goals and strategies to ensure IT department runs smoothly and effectively. Monitors changes in the technology sector to discover ways to develop the organization and improve the client experience. Assists as top-level contact for end users in determining IT requirements and/or solutions. Complies with government regulations for systems operations and performs other duties as assigned.

Background Required:
  • Senior Management IT role within international forwarding in logistics & transportation (10 years)
  • Strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of systems & technology.
  • Long-term IT planning and strategy for developing, selecting, acquiring, and installing software and hardware.
  • Business goals’ conceptualization and process development.
  • Master data management and data architecture & governance.
  • Strategy, implementation, and support of advanced technologies (e.g., AI, Machine Learning, BI, Data Science)
  • Corporate policies and standards to maximize effectiveness and minimize IT costs.
  • Project Management Organization; forming, oversight and management.
  • Budget development and implementation.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions integration.
  • Cybersecurity risk management while meeting business needs and ensuring end user functionality.
  • Policies and procedures to protect IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of data.
  • Software development lifecycle.
  • System recovery and business continuity plans for critical events (e.g., power failure, damage to system, etc.).
  • Systems: MS Suite, CargoWise 1, Workday, SQL, Power BI
  • Education: BA or BS Degree (e.g., MIS, Computer Science/Engineering, or related discipline)
  • Residence: Atlanta, GA (will relocate)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Education: Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Masters’ Degree)
