Geotechnical Engineer
Job Description
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Geotechnical Engineer in the Houston TX area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Moisture Content Tests
• Compaction – (Standard or Modified Tests)
• Soil Identification and Classification
• Sieve Analysis - Minus 200 Tests
• Cutting Soil Boring Tube Samples
• Data entry as needed (most likely due to an absence or large influx of samples)
• Monitor equipment for calibration purposes and report any problems then report calibration status to
management.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or
ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineer required
•PE or EIT Preferred
• NICET and/or ASTM certification
Language Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents. Ability to effectively communicate
with peers and lab manager.
• The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• The level of dirt/fine created working with soils in the work environment is high.
