We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager with a strong background in Japanese cuisine and restaurant operations to lead a high-volume, full-service restaurant in Los Angeles specializing in authentic Japanese dining. This role is ideal for a disciplined operator who values precision, hospitality, and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

The General Manager is responsible for overall restaurant performance, including team leadership, guest experience, food and service standards, and financial results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

  • Maintain exceptional food quality, presentation, and service consistency aligned with authentic Japanese culinary and hospitality standards.

  • Deliver a high level of guest satisfaction and set the tone for hospitality on every shift.

  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high-performing management and hourly team.

  • Manage labor, scheduling, food costs, inventory, and waste to maximize profitability.

  • Utilize POS systems (Toast and/or Aloha) for reporting, cash handling, and operational efficiency.

  • Uphold strict standards for cleanliness, organization, and team appearance.


Qualifications

  • Proven General Manager or senior restaurant leadership experience in high-volume operations.

  • Prior experience in Japanese or Asian-inspired restaurant concepts strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of Japanese cuisine, service standards, and kitchen discipline.

  • Japanese language skills highly preferred.

  • Experience in fine dining or polished casual environments preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, labor management, and cost control.

  • Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling, and inventory management.

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Compensation & Benefits
