Position Summary
After a recent acquisition, our client, a UK-based private equity-backed leading provider of comprehensive testing services for Med Device, Combination Device, and Pharma manufacturers and innovators is seeking General Manager to take charge of a small lab based in the greater Philadelphia area.
A few highlights:
- Excellent regulatory history
- Newly acquired business rolling up into larger, UK-based analytical testing provider
- Reporting directly to CEO who has worked with direct competitors and has broad knowledge of the market and an excellent relationship with the PE investors
- Opportunity to spearhead growth in the US market; have a seat at the table, drive strategy, and expand service offerings
Key priorities are an individual with:
- a strong technical proficiency; a chemistry background is key
- 10+ years in a pharma/med device/CRO/CDMO testing laboratory under GMP setting
- 6+ years of people management
- prior experience running an analytical lab while stepping into a GM role and still able to be a support mechanism to those conducting the studies
- a desire to be part of driving new services and growth in a new market
- an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to act as a change agent
In 2023, the newly acquired lab did $5 million in revenue with ~20 employees. The US lab provides chromatography lab analysis and advanced analytical testing including stability testing and specialized storage services.
