Position Title:             General Manager – Costa Rica

Reports To:                            Chief Executive Officer

Department:                          Administration



Position Summary

Direct and oversee a manufacturing facility to achieve financial and growth objectives; safety, health and environmental objectives; customer satisfaction goals; and to serve as a key member of the senior management team.  Responsible for all major functions of the business including sales and marketing, manufacturing, production control, quality, finance and accounting, information systems and human resources.



Position Duties and Responsibilities

1.         Direct and oversee the operations of the facility (e.g. address customer and supplier issues; capacity and availability of all resources including material, capital, and personnel; direct production, quality and safety improvement efforts).


2.         Develop and manage the business plan for the facility.  Lead the planning process; establish priorities; provide costs for pricing; acquire resources and ensure financial results.


3.         Provide leadership for and development of the management team.  Establish priorities and accountabilities; allocate resources; guide achievement of performance measures; and select and empower functional leaders.


4.         Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and strive to always meet or exceed customer expectations.


5.         Monitor feedback mechanisms for business issues (e.g., metrics are met, problems are addressed, modifications and/or improvements are captured and integrated) in order to ensure product quality and consistency.


6.         Exercise the usual authority of a manager in relation to hiring, coaching, counseling, training, mentoring, conducting performance evaluations, promotions, etc. of the staff.


7.         Keep abreast of the state of machining, fabrication, equipment, control and engineering technology, and investigate and report on important developments with potential value for the Company with evaluations and recommendations.


8.         Serve as a member of Veridiam’s senior management team, and participate in shaping the direction of the company and in establishing and implementing initiatives.


9.         Perform other related duties as required.


Position Requirements



Job Title:         General Manager


Education:      Four year college degree in a Engineering, Business Management or a related discipline.  An advanced degree is preferred but not required.


Experience:    A career history that includes a minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible, relevant, customer-focused roles with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

                                    5 or more years experience in a metal fabrication or machining environment.


Knowledge:     Knowledge of the Company's product lines.

Working knowledge of ERP, capacity planning, forecasting and production best practices.


Skills:              Oral, written and listening communication skills.

Abilities:          Organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. 

Operate a computer workstation and related hardware and software.
