Job description:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager to lead the pre-opening and opening phases of a stunning new luxury boutique resort. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the success of this exciting new venture from the ground up.
Key responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the construction and development process.
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and construction firms.
- Oversee the procurement and installation of all hotel equipment and furniture.
- Manage the project timeline and budget, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Vendor Management: Source and negotiate contracts with key vendors (e.g., food & beverage suppliers, linen providers, technology providers).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Team Building: Recruit, hire, and train a highly skilled and motivated pre-opening team.
- Develop comprehensive training programs for all departments.
- Systems & Procedures: Implement and document all hotel operating procedures, policies, and standards.
- Select and implement property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other relevant technologies.
- Develop emergency response plans and safety protocols.
Opening Phase:
- Oversee all aspects of hotel operations: Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of all departments (front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, spa, etc.). Drive revenue growth and maximize occupancy. Monitor and control expenses to ensure profitability. Provide exceptional guest service and exceed guest expectations.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the hotel management team. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
- Financial Management: Prepare and analyze financial reports. Manage the hotel budget and ensure profitability.
- Sales & Marketing: Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive occupancy and revenue.
- Build relationships with travel agents, tour operators, and corporate clients. Leverage online channels (e.g., social media, online travel agencies) to promote the hotel.
- Guest Relations: Respond promptly and effectively to guest inquiries and complaints. Implement guest feedback mechanisms and use data to improve operations.
- Community Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with the local community.
Requirement:
- Thai local candidate required.
- Must be originally from Phuket and have lived in Phuket long-term.
- Proven experience as a pre-opening team member, especially in collaborating with construction teams during project setup and handover.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with contractors and suppliers.
