Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President & CEO of a family-owned leading Third-Party Logistics company offering Integrated third-party logistics services including Warehousing, Fulfillment and Energy Services (Field and Office Gas line distribution operations). This position could carry the title of President or Vice President depending on candidates experience and past contributions.
The GM of Energy Services is responsible for the day-to-day management of Field and Office Gas line distribution operations. This includes directly supervising office and field operations and managing customer communication and engagement. Projects include mainline distribution, new/repair services, leak detection and repairs. They will also direct day-to-day operations and manage the supply chain for three warehouses totaling 160K SQ/FT and a multi-acre laydown yard. Responsible for full P&L and achieving growth and budgeted profit targets.
This individual will lead business development, project bidding, contract negotiations/management, client retention, QBR, project planning, project execution and overall operations. They will ensure the business goals of the customers, the safety and welfare of the associates, and the goals of the organization are met. They are also responsible for establishing metrics, labor management and defining the organizational structure. They are responsible for up to 35+ FTE’s (25 FTEs for energy services - Field Supervisors, Crew Foreman, Field Crew members, and ~10 FTEs in the facilities - Warehouse Supervisor, CSR/Office Manager, and CSR).

Background Required:
  • ‘Hands On’ manager in gas distribution construction (7 years)
  • Gas line construction and field mgmt. (mainline distribution, new/repair services, leak detection and repairs)
  • Business Development / Client Retention (Account Management, Customer Relationship Management)
  • Analyze account performance utilizing data on profitability, labor costs, space utilization, & consumables
  • P & L or Cost Center Control responsibility
  • Financial Management (budget, budget / financial planning, execution, review, and assessment)
  • Union / non-Union management experience
  • Leadership includes developing high performance teams, conflict resolution, and driving accountability.
  • Oversees/Develops, implements, and directs safety, security, and quality programs including 5S
  • Successfully manage field crews to achieve performance goals (Hire, Develop, Assess, Release)
  • Respond to bids (RFI’s, RFPs, and RFQ’s), negotiate, and manage contracts.
  • Develop, manage, and implement KPI’s.
  • Education: High School degree (with clear demonstration of other background requirements)
  • Proficient utilization of WMS software
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Location: Cleveland, OH area
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • ‘Hands On’ General contractor and/or subcontractor in gas distribution construction
  • Education: College Graduate-BA or BS (i.e., Business, Industrial Engineering, or Logistics)
