Position Responsibilities:
Will manage and provide activities supporting the development, build out and execution of the growth of a North American managed transportation business unit which will result in: enhanced supply chain customer optimization by providing technology based solutions enabling contractual single source transportation for customers. Optimize customers transportation network for maximum capacity availability and profitability. Responsible for staff of xx. pricing and related activity, procurement for core carrier programs, updates of pricing, transit and shipment visibility information systems, analysis of industry trends, competitor activity, margin improvement and pricing effectiveness. Additionally, contract and/or amendment activity, collaborate with Business Units to fully leverage customer contacts and business opportunities. Challenge is to build world-class team, motivating and leading staff while optimizing costs, increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressively Senior Management within contractual Managed Transportation/Freight Management
  • Engineering, Operations and Sales experience
  • Network Optimization
  • Customer Engagement (Implementation process-on boarding new customers, QBR’s)
  • Support new business development (RFQ, RFI, Proposal Response)
  • Rate and service negotiation (pricing)
  • Develop & manage external and internal KPI’s (i.e., capacity development, on time performance, etc.)
  • Computer literate (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • TMS knowledgeable (3Gtms)
  • Business Intelligence knowledgeable: (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Travel: 15-20%
  • Residence: Chicago, IL
  • Education: College Graduate
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Truckload, less than Truckload, Intermodal, Final Mile, LTL, Courier, Rail Car-Bulk (multi-modal)
  • Sector Exposure (Retail, FMGC, Chemicals, Food)
  • Advanced degree: MBA
