Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO of a non-asset-based logistics provider servicing North America and beyond who specialize in fresh produce, frozen food, building products, specialty shipments of all sizes, and airport ground support equipment. Additionally, they own a fleet of trucks that to offer in-house capacity to service shippers.
The General Manager, Brokerage is responsible for the management of all sales and operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and channel growth strategies. Will create profitable growth revenue by soliciting new sources of revenue and profit. Also responsible for development and growth of an inside sales team. Manage all aspects of the sales functions including inside sales, customer service, and carrier sales. Will establish and manage carrier relations and development activities that support the execution of strategies and action plans to enable the profitable growth of the business unit. Responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive growth plan of the non-asset brokerage business. Will work in coordination with other company resources, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the business unit, and establish management processes. Challenge is to build a world-class team with honesty and integrity, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Freight Brokerage Sales and Operations (5+ years)
  • Sales Management (Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor, Team Building) (3+ years)
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e. TL, Intermodal, LTL)
  • Strong Carrier Relations development experience
  • Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
  • Develop and execute business plan strategies
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Minneapolis, MN
