General Manager- Services and Refurbishment

Key Information:

Position Type: Permanent Full time- Direct hire Via Client
Pay: Base salary of up to $190k/year plus 30% bonus
Travel Requirements: 30%

Position Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for leading operations and driving profitable growth within a designated territory, focusing on transformer services—including testing and refurbishment. This role oversees sales, service delivery, and P&L performance while ensuring strong customer relationships, team leadership, and operational excellence across all offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at the assigned location(s), addressing local challenges including growth initiatives, customer concerns, employee needs, and facility-related matters.

  • Lead recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development for direct reports.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute growth strategies and business goals.

  • Prepare accurate estimates and quotes that align with client and company standards.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and vendors.

  • Ensure timely completion of monthly operational and financial reports in accordance with internal timelines.

  • Manage location-specific budgets and optimize operational expenses to meet financial goals.

  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure projects are executed within scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.

  • Monitor project profitability and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in broader business planning efforts.

  • Facilitate regular team meetings to communicate updates, goals, and corporate information.

  • Prepare and present various operational and scheduling reports as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Qualifications


  • Minimum of ten years in an operational leadership role within the electrical services or related technical industry.

  • Proven leadership approach rooted in mentorship and team development.

  • Experience with union environments is an asset.

  • Strong history of meeting or exceeding financial targets and forecasts.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture and high customer satisfaction.

  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations including HSEQ, DOT, and OSHA standards.

  • Effective project management capabilities.

  • Financial acumen and a results-driven mindset.

  • Strong consultative sales ability, with a focus on value-based selling.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate company-wide initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Capacity for identifying and implementing process improvements.
