Our client in the Retail Supermarket industry in the Central/ Freeport /Caparo is seeking a General Manager-Senior Level.

The salary range for the position is $15,000 – $20,000, on a one-year renewable contract with a three-month probation period.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead the full operations and strategic growth of a supermarket. This hands-on retail leader will manage a large team, drive profitability, and foster a customer-first culture. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in procurement, vendor management, warehousing, customer relations, technology systems, and staff leadership. The GM will hold full P&L responsibility and ensure consistent operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily supermarket operations, including sales floor management, merchandising, inventory, and customer service.
  • Develop and execute long-term operational strategies to achieve business growth, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Lead in-store promotions, marketing, and customer engagement initiatives to drive traffic and sales.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience and service standards across all departments.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs, shrinkage, stock rotation, and loss prevention practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement performance management frameworks for all staff and management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food-handling standards.
  • Take full accountability for P&L, budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Drive innovation through process improvements, technology integration, and cost optimization.
  • Coach and develop management teams to build a high-performance culture.
  • Manage supplier and vendor relationships, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Apply technology solutions to enhance POS systems, reporting, and stock control.
  • Represent the supermarket in meetings with stakeholders and community organizations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, or Human Resource Management.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ senior leadership experience within supermarkets or large-scale retail operations.
  • Proven expertise in retail operations, technology systems, procurement, vendor relations, warehousing, and staff management.
  • Demonstrated success in P&L management, sales growth, merchandising, and inventory control.
