Feed Manager

Your industry knowledge, business acumen, sales, and coaching skills are required to build and grow the Feed Division of a diversified player in Ontario's agriculture industry.

As the Feed Manager, all your activities will be focused on leading the Feed Managers to collectively see profitable growth of the Feed Division according to internal strategic plans - persistently creating producer value while stimulating change and progress within the Feed business. It is an expectation that you will lead with moral authority and demonstrate the values and purpose of the business in every action; excelling in your leading, coaching, inspiring and support of others to be self-directed and accountable. In addition, you are expected to search for opportunities that continuously improve yourself personally and professionally.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Increase market opportunities within the dairy and poultry industry; growing revenue, margin, and net income as a result
  • Develop and implement tactics, actions and strategies to accelerate profitable growth of the division
  • Coach and empower all managers to collectively accelerate division growth
  • Manage capital requests and budgeting processes; aligning them to strategic map
  • Join with HR to develop and implement skill training and a succession talent pool
  • Ensure staff are compliant with all EH&S initiatives
  • Keep the CEO informed of matters important to the financial effectiveness and efficiency of the division and its operations
  • Work as part of the Executive team; making decisions regarding expansion, investments, acquisitions, alliances, and other strategic growth activities

To be considered for this key position, you offer:

EDUCATION & TRAINING:
  • Bachelor or Masters level Business and/or Science degree; animal nutrition/feed focus preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, and ABILITIES:
  • Proven ability to build and implement strategic growth strategies within an agricultural feed business
  • Producer value-creating-aptitude and desire to succeed; self-starter
  • Excellence in planning, organization, and time-management skills
  • Proven ability to build and execute a differentiated feed value proposition
  • 5+ years' proven ability to lead, coach, inspire, and influence; building teamwork and team spirit
  • Ability to create a self-directed work environment within the team
  • 10+ years experience in a feed or animal-nutrition based business
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Intermediate or advanced computer skills (Microsoft and social media platforms)
  • Critical thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)
