We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Garden Centre Assistant to join our dynamic team at a thriving plant centre. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth running of the store and assist with achieving sales and profit targets. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting staff, and ensuring the highest standards in store operations and customer service.

About You:

To thrive in this supportive environment, you will have:

  • Previous experience in retail preferable within a garden centre or nursery setting.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and outstanding communication skills.
  • A passion for plants and gardening with a Horticultural qualification or relevant experience within the industry.
  • A reliable, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service will be key to your success in this role.
  • Assistance with stock management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a performance focus to meet company targets.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any complaints, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised store environment, oversee specific product categories, and implement and uphold visual merchandising standards to create an inviting store atmosphere.
  • Ensure accurate stock levels, timely ordering, and effective pricing, timely and accurate stock receipts, invoice matching, and the processing of purchase orders.
  • Process credit notes, stock adjustments, conduct stocktakes, report findings, and implement solutions to improve stock accuracy.
