GRS Managing Consultant
Job Description
Our Group Retirement Solutions (GRS) practice continues to be a high growth area for People Corporation, and we are looking for a Managing Consultant in the Toronto area.
This role will require obtaining the LLQP license within three months. In addition, the successful candidate will be organized and take initiative, able to develop strong relationships with clients, prospects, teammates, and internal/external distribution partners. Good analytical skills and experience conducting GRS marketings, request for proposals, and finalist presentations are important competencies for these roles.
Managing Consultants are the day-to-day contact for clients assigned and will typically work together with a Consultant on large/complex clients. The main difference between the Consultant role and Managing Consultant role is the Consultant role has business development responsibilities.
The Managing Consultant will focus on:
- Client Service: Manage and service an existing block of GRS clients through proactive account management and regular client contact with the support of 1-2 others depending on the size/complexity of the client. Maintain a client database of key information and keep up to date. Performance is measured by client retention/satisfaction levels and adherence to quality of client records and database maintenance.
- Development of Others: Coach and Mentor others on the team to help with their development and career progression which will help the practice and you personally to be able to take on more clients as your block expands. Performance is measured by team feedback and their personal development and progress.
- Special Projects: Support the GRS practice by helping with client communication summaries of key legislation updates and CAPSA guideline updates. Participate in and or host webinars and member information sessions. Other projects as assigned.
- Subject Matter Expert: Maintain LLQP license, monitor competitive landscape on market trends, pricing, products, and services. Understand and be able to articulate, both verbal and written, legislation, taxation, investments, and compliance as it pertains to retirement and savings programs and solutions offered by the GRS team.
To be successful as a Managing Consultant with People Corporation, you will need:
- 3-5 years experience working with group retirement savings programs.
- LLQP license (or willingness to obtain within 3 months) required
- Team player mindset
- Client focused approach
- To be proactive and deliver on promises.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Creative mindset and proficient writing skills.
- Willing to help develop/enhance marketing/sales materials and client communication/education materials.
