We are searching for a Freight Administrator to join our client’s growing team.

Duties of the Freight Administrator include:
  • Coordinate truck, rail, barge shipments
  • Maintain rate tables
  • Participate in rate negotiations
  • Maintain communication with transportations partners, Sales Team, Logistic Center, shipping operations and truck scales
  • Implementation and use of the Carrier Point traffic management system
  • Occasional travel
  • Key business partner with Logistics Coordinator in traffic administration to facilitate continuous improvement, commercial excellence and on time delivery
Qualifications for the position include:
  • 1 year of previous rail experience & working with class 1 railroad systems
  • 1+ year of experience in an administrative role or applicable experience
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) in a business setting

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of shipping operations & truck industry
  • Knowledge of Carrier Point traffic management system and ability to negotiate freight rates
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional presence to both internal and external customers
