This Role Will Be Responsible For:

Managing and maintaining product formulations, feed tags, and historical data integrity.
Collaborating with sales teams and nutritionists to oversee formula maintenance and ingredient specifications.
Monitoring and optimizing costs associated with contract ingredients and mixed feed production.
Ensuring effective coordination with purchasing and operations teams for cost-effective inventory management.
Developing daily pricing for sack and bulk products while tracking inventory and rail receiving.
Implementing ingredient substitutions when necessary to maintain optimal production.
Supporting outside nutrition staff in expanding the customer base.
Upholding company safety and health policies.

Expectations Will Include:

Maintaining up-to-date records of formulations, ingredient costs, and pricing structures.
Ensuring seamless communication between sales, operations, and purchasing teams.
Developing new procedures for tracking customer buying patterns and formulation changes.
Consistently monitoring and analyzing gross margin and expense reports.
Training staff, customers, and sales representatives on best practices in formulation.
Identifying and troubleshooting formulation and ingredient issues effectively.

A Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following:

Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, or a related field (Master’s in Ruminant Nutrition preferred).
2-4 years of experience in feed formulation, preferably within the dairy industry.
Strong knowledge of dairy nutrition, herd health, and agricultural business practices.
Proficiency in computer applications related to feed formulation and data management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and provide strategic solutions.
Willingness to travel within the United States as needed.

Compensation: $95k + DOE
