Forensic Accident Reconstructionist

Principia is hiring a forensic accident reconstructionist to join their growing group in Pleasant Hill, California. This is a career-defining opportunity for a motivated individual to work hand-in-hand with a well-established accident reconstruction expert. This role can facilitate skill growth and increasing levels of responsibility, building up to serve as a testifying expert. Prior testifying experience is not required; a successful applicant only needs to possess the desire to work as an expert witness and a technical background within accident reconstruction or vehicle dynamics. As an accident reconstruction expert, the engineer will conduct field investigations to gather data related to vehicle accidents, use the data to calculate and reconstruct the accident, and design and conduct tests to facilitate the analysis of the accident. The results of the analysis are presented in written reports or exhibits that illustrate the findings for use in depositions and trials. This requires strong and clear writing skills and the ability to present complex analysis in simple, straight forward exhibits.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $180,000 /year – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience and skillset.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related discipline
• 3+ years of experience
• Individual should possess prior experience related to accident reconstruction or vehicle dynamics
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate highly technical information effectively to a wide range of audiences
• Desire to work as a testifying expert; prior experience testifying is not required but individual must have the willingness to work as a testifying expert witness
