Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager of a regional transportation provider.

The Fleet Manager is responsible for monitoring and dispatching a portion of 50 drivers as well as customer service in their region. Receives customer order information and translates data into dispatch platform. Routes and dispatches trucks to customer locations for service pickups. Prioritizes calls according to urgency and importance. Advocate for drivers and works to manage driver utilization, service levels and quality-of-life. Evaluates the driver performance & supervises fleet during shift. Reports service failures and/or performance issues by drivers in a professional and timely manner. Assists drivers and coach on fuel network if fuel needed out of network. Holds drivers accountable for given work assignments and follow through of dispatch. Understands and updates the current status of all drivers and their locations. Understands and has working knowledge for current hours of service guidelines and enforce compliance. Maintains honesty and integrity in all communications with drivers and fellow employees.

Background Required:
  • Dispatcher experience (2 -3 yrs)
  • Prioritized drivers’ schedules
  • Knowledge of DOT procedures and safety guidelines
  • Dispatch support software (PCS, McLeod)
  • Monitored driver daily logs
  • Metrics measurements (i.e., on time performance, exception management, route optimization)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office
  • Residence: Northern Utah
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Tractor & trailer mechanical knowledge
  • Operations (i.e., Logistics, Warehouse)
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Business, transportation, or related)
