Fixed Equipment & Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Join our team as a Fixed Equipment & Mechanical Integrity Engineer in a leading chemical plant to significantly contribute to the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of mechanical systems and equipment. This crucial role focuses on developing, implementing, and optimizing mechanical integrity programs. Our goal is to minimize equipment failures, enhance maintenance strategies, and mitigate mechanical asset risks, ensuring continuous plant productivity and safety. Salary: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive inspection plans and schedules adhering to industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including, but not limited to API 510, API 570, and API 653.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) including penetrant testing (PT), visual testing (VT), positive metal identification (PMI), and ultrasonic thickness (UT) measurements to ensure structural, component, and weld integrity.
  • Maintain both electronic and hard copy formats of inspection and test reports for mechanical integrity assessments of process piping, vessels, and tanks.
  • Conduct detailed inspections and assessments of mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, and valves to identify potential defects, corrosion, and degradation.
  • Manage and optimize asset care through predictive and preventive maintenance strategies incorporating the latest industry best practices and technological advancements.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering degree required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Fixed Equipment or Mechanical Integrity Engineer in a PSM regulated chemical plant environment.
  • Proven technical proficiency in predictive and preventive maintenance, mechanical integrity and asset care.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced NDT techniques and familiarity with Six Sigma, PCMS programs.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or other relevant certifications.
  • Advanced degree or specialized training in mechanical engineering or asset integrity management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects focused on plant reliability and compliance enhancement.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance management and reporting as per local, state, and federal guidelines.
