About the Internship
Sunset Transportation is seeking a Financial Operations Intern to join our accounting team in Saint Louis, MO. This role is critical to helping the team catch up and stay ahead. You’ll work closely with a cross-trained accounting team to support billing, accounts payable, cash applications, and LTL processes—helping relieve current backlogs and keep freight moving. Over the course of this 10-week paid internship, you’ll work 40 hours a week, gaining hands-on experience and learning from industry leaders. This isn’t just an internship; it’s your stepping stone into a dynamic, fast-paced industry that’s essential to the global economy.
What You’ll Do:
Post cash receipts accurately and timely to support billing flowAssist with LTL billing and EDI order processing to reduce delays
Respond to carrier payment status inquiries via email and phone
Generate and deliver customer invoices
Enter and code payables; match and verify carrier settlements
Support backlog cleanup and jump in where needed across the team
