Financial Controller
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a results-driven Financial Controller to oversee and elevate their financial operations. In this critical leadership role, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while driving compliance with industry regulations and corporate policies. By leveraging your expertise in accounting and finance, you will play an integral role in shaping the financial health of a company at the forefront of the gaming technology sector.
This role is offered on a hybrid schedule in downtown Las Vegas.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering professional growth and a culture of excellence.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare, review, and analyze detailed financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
- Deliver timely and insightful financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing data-driven recommendations.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure strict adherence to gaming industry financial regulations and other compliance standards.
- Manage the external audit process, liaising with auditors to facilitate seamless reviews and certifications.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Support the CFO’s budgeting and forecasting processes, integrating insights from operations, marketing, and other departments.
- Collaborate with executives to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
Treasury and Tax Management:
- Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow optimization, banking relationships, and investment strategies tailored to the gaming sector.
- Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with local, national, and international tax obligations.
Sales Commission Accounting:
- Implement and maintain processes for tracking, calculating, and reporting sales commissions to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to design commission structures that align with corporate objectives.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement internal controls, financial policies, and operational procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, introducing best practices and innovative solutions that align with the company’s growth objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a track record in the gaming or hospitality industry highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other financial reporting frameworks relevant to regulated environments.
- Expertise in navigating compliance frameworks specific to gaming and casino operations, preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with financial software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools; experience with gaming-specific platforms a plus. NetSuite experience preferred.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail, coupled with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
