Job Description

Our client is a leading independent pharmaceutical company, with its head office based in Europe, and has offices in 149 countries across the
globe. They are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join their Johannesburg office.

Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management
  • Record all bulk Intercompany invoices into the Navision/SAP System
  • Record and capture all packaging material related purchases orders into Navision/SAP System e.g. Britpack, Inkon, Clarient, ProPrint, and North–Star
  • Record all productions related purchase orders
  • Record all stock movements and include values into Navision/SAP System
  • Reconcile inventory values and quantities based on latest unit prices
  • Reconcile stock losses from UPD, Kiara, and Technikon
  • Prepare stock losses claims against TL or UPD
  • Capture in HFM phase 2 and part 3 (Intercompany and stock)
General Accounting:
  • Reconciliation of all intercompany creditors (monthly)
  • Submission of timeous intercompany payments (monthly)
  • Clearing and allocation of intercompany clearing accounts
  • Monthly journal processing
  • Reconcile and monitor all items, products, cost of sales (Finish product unit cost build up and update)
  • Monthly log fees and recon and validation by the BD department
  • Assists Operational manager with budget estimate process and capture
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required by Manager

Internal Control:
  • Assist with development of financial/business policies and procedures
  • Monitoring of internal control processes and alert management of any breaches
  • Provide relevant documents to Auditors to satisfy their requirements

Timely, accurate performance of the following activities:
  • Entrepreneurial financial mindset: capacity to identify and improve efficiencies in the Finance department
  • Review systems and implement revised processes to improve overall efficiency of the finance department
  • Perseverance and resilience - Ability to work with finance department staff on new process to ensure hand holding and roll out is achieved as planned
  • Ability to assess quickly, adapt, roll out agreed objectives to improve the finance department need to add more value to other departments

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • CIMA qualification
  • BCom finance/ Accounting degree
  • Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel at an Intermediate level.
Job Training and Experience:
  • Demonstrable computer literacy i.e. MS Office, Finance Systems eg: NAVISON/SAP
  • Demonstrable success in academia and/or career with emphasis on continuity, progression and level of attainment
  • Previous experience in an Accounting based environment
