Position Summary

Euravia Engineering & Supply Co Ltd, a part of Magellan Aerospace Kelbrook, Lancashire has an exciting opportunity for Financial Controller.

  • Full-time-permanent position
  • Working days are Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Financial control responsibility for Euravia UK
  • Managing finance & IT team of four people;
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for site and parent group to short timescales; and presentation of results at periodic business review meetings
  • Monthly monitoring & reporting of KPIs and capital expenditure;
  • Monthly forecasting
  • Preparation of annual budgets and 5 year strategic plans;
  • Cash management and forecasting
  • Margin analysis;
  • Management & review of payroll processing & costs;
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for Euravia UK, including consolidation of Euravia NA, and management of audit
  • In conjunction with external advisers, preparation of corporation tax calculations including detailed R&D tax credit claim information, UK / US double taxation.
  • Close involvement in working on the ERP system implementation in conjunction with operations teams as well as IT support;
  • Provide regular & ad hoc reporting information to the General Manager & Managers as well as to departmental managers and corporate directors;
  • Supporting preparation & monitoring of tactical improvement plans with General Manager & Managers;
  • Supporting operations/HR with pay negotiations e.g. introduction of new shifts, discussions with unions, cost scenario analyses & modelling;

Position Requirements

Academic:

  • Educated to a degree or equivalent level

Professional Accreditation:

  • Recognised accounting qualification desirable; part qualified acceptable

Experience:

  • Substantial (>10 years) financial and management accounting experience in manufacturing, engineering or maintenance businesses across large and small companies.
  • Use of ERP/MRP systems & accounting software packages
  • Maintenance/processing/reconciliation of general ledgers
  • Dealing with financial queries orally and in writing
  • Experience of managing in house IT
