Financial Controller

Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with NavDynamics (Navision) Accounting Software.
  • Maintenance of General Ledger, production of accounts and books for management reporting and tax purposes.
  • Management of bank accounts.
  • Receivables and Payables management.
  • Sales Commission calculation.
  • Desired Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience as a Controller or senior auditor. 5 years of experience as accountant at staff level.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Accounting or course work in accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Management Oversight: Reports to CFO and President of the Company.

Specific tasks of day to day job function:

Operational Accounting

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting department, including supervision of Staff Accountant.
  • Set policy and procedures for the department and company; train staff on implementation.
  • Supervision of daily accounting, month-end closing and audit, bi-monthly payroll, quarterly reporting and annual financial preparation.
  • Cash flow management – receivables thru the DTS/CSR and payables in Navision; cash management investments.
  • Oversee Listing Department, monthly reporting – advising, review and checking, and making changes/additions to the reports.
  • Coordinating with IT department on modifications & updates to the DTS system.
  • Data analysing and reporting – by agent, by department, by company
  • Annual Budget preparation including preparing agent tier calculations Annual review of 1099 forms for all vendor companies.
  • Answer questions from agents and their accountants, including providing commission income details via letters & 1099 forms.
  • Liaison with Commercial Bank on all Banking business.
  • Sales Agent commission calculation and analysis, including interaction with Sales Agents.

Reporting and Training

  • Provide monthly cash flow reports to Management.
  • Prepare and discuss quarterly income projections & projections with Management.
  • Prepare financial presentations for Shareholders, Board of Directors and company-wide meetings.
  • Training in Navision for staff and management.
  • Training in the DTS system for agents, staff and management.
  • Attend bi-monthly meetings with President.
  • Attend weekly management meetings, huddle calls and other company meetings.
  • Strategic planning and collaboration with CFO on expansion planning and implementation.
