Job Description

Are you a natural leader who can lead a team of 18 accounting staff focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger, tax, banking, customs, tariffs and loans. You will work closely with our North American CFO, based in Brampton and our Global Head Office team in China. You will help oversee the accounting team and act as a business partner capable of seeing the big picture implications of all accounting decisions.

  • Lead the financial team to provide financial accounting service to the business units in North America and associated companies in Hong Kong and Europe
  • Guide the accounting team to keep an accurate and complete financial record and improve the work flow and efficiency of the ERP system (Pyramid and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision))
  • Provide internal and external financial statements and consolidation in a timely manner to meet both the Parent company and the regulatory requirement
  • Manage the bank relationships and maintain the loan facility to support the business growth (ABL and factoring with multiple banks)
  • Keep internal controls to assure the financial/operational conduct and data integrity and prevent fraud
  • Work with Business Unit leaders and operational team to control the business risk and safe guard the company assets and financial health (including credit limit, payment term, collection, working capital utilization, insurance policy etc)
  • Work with the external auditors in completion of financial, bank, insurance, government audit and minimize the exposure of non-compliance
  • Work with the Group and tax advisors on global tax planning, assure the local tax fillings are done accurate and on time to minimize the exposure of non-compliance
  • Work with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in providing inputs into the preparation of budgets and forecasts as required, as well as the monthly business review
  • Provide the information/analysis required by the finance team in the Parent company by working effectively with the team
  • Provide proactive solutions to financial accounting and reporting issues
  • Ad hoc special projects as required

Skills and Experience Requirements:
Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with CA/CPA designation
  • Hands on experience and business exposure in a global industrial products distribution/manufacturing/logistics business with revenues of $500MM or more
  • Brings broad financial management experience gained as a full scope financial leader or solid #2 to the CFO in larger corporation
  • Proven track record of success with a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive industry-specific experience preferably in the manufacturing, logistics, wholesale business,
  • Strong professional and leadership capability to lead the financial team and manage the changes
  • Strong experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment.
  • Solid experience with ERP system (Pyramid and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) - desirable
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be fluent in Mandarin and flexible to work with different time zones (12 hour difference with head office)
