A large critical access hospital ($60M+ net) with several rural clinics, located near national parks and world class skiing in the western United States, has an immediate opportunity for a Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller is primarily responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the accounting/finance function and will directly manage two Accountants and two Accounts Payable Clerks, with the potential to add to the team as needed over time. Will also work closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, who also reports to the CFO.

In conjunction with the CFO, this position is responsible for financial operations, including accounting, budgetary, audits and financial planning activities within the organization. Assists the CFO to ensure the organization meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements. Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements with statistics. Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Coordinate the provision of information for interim and annual audits and analyzes various accounts as needed. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures. Monitor and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness. Day-to-day motivation and leadership of the accounting team and entire accounting function.

The ideal candidate is someone who is dynamic and driven, patient and a critical thinker. Must have a solid understanding of finance and accounting within the healthcare sector. Critical access, GAAP and audit experience is all a big plus, as is prior management experience. A minimum of five years accounting in a complex environment is required, as is a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
