Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Analyst. The successful incumbent will take part in financial reporting and analysis. Key duties include monthly financial statement preparation as well as assisting the Senior Financial Analyst in the preparation of the Budget and 12 month rolling forecast preparation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare budget and 12 month rolling forecast
  • Monthly Financial statements preparation and analysis; Accounting for inventory and related provisions, accruals, journal entries
  • Involved with internal and external audit requirements
  • Support preparation of monthly business review finance package, 4 box report, staff meeting notes
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Provide financial analysis as required
  • Maintain reconciliations, manage month end close activities
  • Support/mentor General Accountant, AP and Payroll staff as required
  • Support Director, Finance and Senior Financial Analyst with special projects as required

Position Requirements

  • University and/or College Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • CPA Certification or candidate
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Inventory experience preferred
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Candidates who are chosen for the position will need to pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program and obtain and maintain a Contract Security clearance at the Reliability Status level
