Financial Analyst - Scottsboro, AL

The
Financial Analyst supports the financial and business information, analysis and modeling in support of the company's business objectives. This includes, but is not limited to the annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, monthly financial reporting, Key Performance Indicators, presentation preparation, and business controls. The analyst will also work to develop enhancements to existing processes to drive improved financial transparency and awareness. The analyst may also perform competitor and industry analysis and support special projects that are aligned with the company's business goals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Assists in the development of the annual operating plan and monthly and quarterly forecasts.

  • Provides support for the preparation of business review presentations, as well as, completes work on special projects for senior business team leaders that is in alignment with company-wide goals.

  • Develops a strong understanding and supports the administration of the Hyperion Planning Application/Oracle Data Warehouse.

  • Performs variance and trending analysis.

  • May be responsible for analyzing the monthly financial performance and providing commentary for the material variances to prior year and plan.

  • Efficient data mining/querying and reporting.

  • Prepares and updates month and quarter-end reports.

  • Performs advanced analysis activities, including defining, measuring and communicating core metrics and providing insight to the business.

  • Orientation to continuous performance improvement coupled with root cause analysis.

  • Emphasizes and focuses on driving profitable growth.

  • General ledger accounting including preparation of journal entries & invoice coding as needed.

  • Reconciliations of subsidiary accounts to control accounts, tracing discrepancies to original documents and initiate necessary adjusting entries.

WHAT YOU NEED
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • At least two years of experience in financial analysis in a high volume, durable-goods manufacturing environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with others in a cross-functional/matrix team environment.

  • Experience with modeling income statements, balance sheets and cash flows

  • Strong understanding of financial concepts such as ROI, NPV, EVA, etc.

  • Proven analyst with experience forecasting and providing actuals in a timely and accurate manner is critical.

  • An affinity to talking with numbers; inherent aptitude to quantify and support conclusions with data.

  • Demonstrates problem-solving ability with experience providing practical business insights from large, complex data sets.
