Finance & Lending Associate Attorney

Salary: $220,000.00 - $290,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Structuring, negotiating, and documenting a variety of loan types including syndicated loans, asset-based loans, and working capital loans.
  • Advising on real estate finance transactions, specifically dealing with the financing of acquisitions, development, and construction of commercial and residential properties.
  • Working closely with senior attorneys to drive successful outcomes for client transactions.
  • Providing comprehensive and strategic legal guidance on complex finance and lending matters.
  • Collaborating across departments to ensure an integrated approach in offering sophisticated legal services to clients.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Current Bar Admission in Texas.
  • 2–4 years of experience in finance, lending and commercial real estate law.
  • Proven track record of representing lenders in the planning, negotiation, and documentation of loans.
  • Robust understanding of commercial real estate transactions and financing, particularly with diverse property types.
  • Well-developed skills in detailed analysis and precise communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal education or background in Finance or Secured Transactions.
  • Experience with complex syndicated credit facilities, participated credits, and distressed real estate.
  • Proximity to and familiarity with the Houston community is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and under tight deadlines.
