Field Support Engineer - Medical Laboratory Equipment

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Field Support Engineer to join our team, responsible for servicing and maintaining medical laboratory equipment such as hematology, chemistry, and coagulation analyzers. This crucial role involves working with automated robotic lab instrumentation, requiring solid electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills. Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation, regular servicing, and preventive maintenance of medical laboratory instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relations while managing on-site problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with the Field Support Group to streamline processes and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain a well-stocked and organized company vehicle including tools and essential parts required for field service activities.
  • Provide essential on-site training to customers regarding the operation and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or similar discipline is required.
  • Proven experience in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a field service engineer, preferably in the medical device sector.
  • Candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as per company policy.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience servicing medical lab analyzers or other medical instrumentation is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems used in medical laboratory equipment.
  • Effective problem-solving skills that ensure swift resolutions providing minimal disruption to client operations.
